Practical Life
These are the initial activities offered to children to introduce them to daily routines: “rolling, unrolling a mat, pouring water, lacing shoes, moving a chair silently…”. Through this specific material, the child becomes capable of taking care of themselves and their surroundings in the micro-society represented by their classroom.
By engaging in these activities that require concentration, precision, and sequential movement, the child acquires practical autonomy at an early age.
